Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

✓ Klause AI uses only strictly necessary cookies and one anonymized analytics system. No advertising cookies. No third-party tracking pixels. No cookie consent banner is required because we do not use cookies that require consent under the ePrivacy Directive or PECR.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites. They serve functions like keeping you logged in and measuring site usage. We use cookies minimally and only where necessary to provide the Service.

What We Do NOT Use

  • Advertising or remarketing cookies (Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, TikTok Pixel)
  • Third-party tracking cookies that follow you across other websites
  • A/B testing or personalization cookies that track individual behavior over time
  • Heat-mapping or session-recording tools (e.g. Hotjar, FullStory, Microsoft Clarity)
  • Social media tracking pixels or share buttons with tracking
  • Any cookies that identify you personally beyond your authenticated session

Why There Is No Cookie Banner

Under the EU ePrivacy Directive, UK PECR, and equivalent laws, a cookie consent banner is only legally required for cookies that are not strictly necessary for the service to function. Our analysis:

  • Auth cookies (sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token, __klause_csrf): Strictly necessary — the Service cannot function without them. Exempt from consent requirement.
  • Jurisdiction preference cookie: Functional, no personal data, no tracking. Exempt.
  • Vercel Analytics: No personal data, no device fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. Functions identically to server log analysis, which is universally recognized as not requiring consent under ePrivacy rules.

If you are a data protection regulator and have questions about our cookie classification, please contact privacy@klauseai.com.

How to Manage Cookies

You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data
  • Mobile browsers: Check your browser's Help section for cookie management

Note: Blocking the authentication cookies (sb-access-token and sb-refresh-token) will prevent you from staying logged in. The free analyzer tool will still work without cookies for anonymous users.

Changes to This Policy

If we introduce new cookies — particularly any requiring consent — we will update this page and, where required, implement a consent mechanism before placing those cookies. Registered users will be notified by email.
